What We Do
Skateboard, Share Stoke, GIVE BACK
Who We Are
In 2000, several founding members of KSO worked relentlessly to get the Kapaa Skatepark built.
In late 2020, Kaua’i’s first concrete skatepark was built over the existing Kapaa Skatepark. We are thrilled to see how many people are enjoying the new skatepark and it proves that this is a wanted and much needed resource for our Kauai community.
KSO strongly feels that Kauai youth deserve to have more public places on the island to go skateboarding.
Our Mission
ENRICHING LIVES THROUGH SKATEBOARDING
Our Goal
To work with the residents of Kaua’i, the County of Kaua’i Parks and Recreation Department, as well as community organizations, or businesses that also support Kaua’i youth and want to see them have safe, modern skateparks. We believe that Kaua’i would be best served to have multiple public skateparks/ramps/skate-places located throughout the island to best serve each community. Just like baseball fields and basketball courts.
With safe places to skateboard we will provide mentorships, camps, classes and an overall presence to encourage a positive skateboarding environment.
Our Vision
Happier and healthier members of our community.
Here are some of the community projects we have worked on over the years:
